This project converted an ordinary rooftop area into a planted green-roof environment while protecting the occupied structure below.
The Waterproofing Challenge
Green roofs combine irrigation, retained moisture, soil and living plants over a roof assembly. The membrane and drainage layers must work together continuously.
Work Completed
- Evaluated the roof deck and drainage conditions.
- Prepared the substrate for the waterproofing assembly.
- Installed a continuous roof waterproofing membrane.
- Protected vulnerable transitions and penetrations.
- Coordinated drainage and the planted finish layers.
Project Outcome
The finished assembly supports the green-roof concept while providing dedicated moisture protection beneath the landscaped surface.
