Project Overview
This third-floor roof-deck and walkway project required correction of drainage and perimeter details before a new waterproofing system could be installed.
The Waterproofing Challenge
Improper slope and weak sheet-metal flashing can undermine an otherwise strong membrane. Both conditions needed correction as part of one assembly.
Work Completed
- Inspected drainage and perimeter flashing.
- Repaired and improved the sheet-metal edge conditions.
- Re-sloped affected areas to support drainage.
- Installed a five-layer fiberglass waterproofing system.
- Checked transitions and finished walking surfaces.
Project Outcome
The completed deck combines improved water movement, stronger perimeter detailing and a reinforced waterproof walking surface.
